Miranda TM

Miranda TM was produced between 1969 - 1974. It was based on the Sensomat models but using the common M42 (Pentax) thread mount instead of the Miranda mount.This allowed the use of a large variety of lenses of different brands . It was sold under different names. such as: Miranda TM, Soligor TM, Pallas TM,

 

The Miranda Camera Company, originally named the Orion Camera Company produced a line of quality 35mm single lens reflexes, a range of over 30 models between first prototypes in 1953 through to the last production model in 1978. Although not beeing exactly rival to the Nikon, Canon, Pentax or Olympus but generally they all were reliable and robust "tanks". Perhaps not including the last model DX-3, which had some reliability problems.

Miranda Sensoret

35mm range finder is the only RF manufactured by Miranda Camera Co. It was was introduced in 1972 and the production ended in 1975.

Miranda Sensoret, Canon Canonet, Petri ES, Konica Auto S, and Minolta Hi-Matic F, etc. were a typical snap-shot cameras of the Seventies.
Why they where ? - Miranda Sensoret works only with batteries which are not available anymore. All batteries which uses mercury oxide are banned today because of it´s environmental concerns. I wonder how they have determined that cadmium and litium did not have any ill effects, not to mention dihydro-oxide that still today kills more people than a mercury ever.
